Harriet Vogel

HARRIET

Since 1991 I have been privileged to support, counsel and accompany many hundreds of grieving adults and children as they have navigated their personal grief journey.

I began my career as a bereavement counselor and assistant bereavement coordinator with the first hospice on Long Island. I left in 1997 to help establish a new hospice, where I became the Bereavement Coordinator and held responsibility for developing and facilitating the volunteer training program until 2007. I then merged two areas of expertise, teaching "Death and Dying" and "Hospice and Palliative Care" at Nassau County Community College and later at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. In 2001, I simultaneously established a private practice, specializing in grief counseling, which I continue today. Having successfully applied my education from my Masters degree to the field of hospice care and education, I received an honorary doctorate in education from Hebrew Union College in 2012.

Following my move to Florida full time last year, I have expanded my private practice to the Stuart, Palm City, St. Lucie area. I am currently writing a book based on my personal grief journey.

Due to the confidentiality of my work, please contact me personally for further information.
